Conference FAQs

The following FAQs relate to the in person conference in Brisbane. For FAQs for the virtual conference please visit the Delegate Connect FAQ page

Do I need to check-in when I enter the venue?
Yes, you will be required to check in upon entry to the venue using the Check In QLD app. Please download this from the Google Play or App Store prior to your arrival. Visit https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld for more information. 

Where do I collect my name badge from?
Conference name badges will be available to collect from the Registration and Information Desk, located on the foyer level of the venue. The opening times of the Registration and Information Desk are:

Thursday 27 May: 1600 - 1800hrs
Friday 28 May: 0830 - 1700hrs
Saturday 29 May: 0830 - 1730hrs
Sunday 30 May: 0830 - 1330hrs

Is there car parking at the venue?
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre car park facilitates up to 1500 vehicles. Further information on parking and applicable charges can be found here.

Is there Wi-Fi at the venue?
Yes, to connect to the Wi- Fi:
Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your device.
Search for and select the SSID: ASA2021
When prompted enter the password: Sonographer21

Is there a Conference App?
Yes, all delegates attending the conference in person have been provided with access to the conference app via email which also contains your App PIN. If you experience any difficulties with the app whilst at teh venue please visit the Registration and Information Desk. 

How do I download the App?
To download the App you will need software that is at 5+ on Android devices or iOS 9+ on Apple devices. If your software is older than this, please follow the directions for opening the App in a web browser.

1. Search for eventsair from your Apple or Android App Store. If you are reading this on your phone, simply go to one of the links below.

2. Install the App entitled "The Event App by EventsAIR"
3. The first time the App is opened the following event code will need to be entered: asa2021
4. Once the App is open, select Log In and enter the email address that you registered with
and the four-digit App Pin from the email you have received.

I can't find the email with my PIN, how do I find this out?
Everybody can access a basic version of the app but you will need to log in to be able to access all of the features. If you cannot find your PIN select the Log In option from the app home screen and select 'Get PIN'. Enter the email address that you registered with to obtain a PIN reset email to your inbox.

I booked accommodation with my registration, how do I make amendments?
For those who reserved hotel accommodation at the time you registered online for the ASA 2021 Conference, please ensure that accounts are settled in full prior to your departure and that the appropriate deposit has been deducted from your account. If you need to change or amend your reservation, please contact sonographers@theconferencecompany.com and we will contact the hotel for you.

Where are the catering breaks?
All catering breaks will be in the Exhibition Area in Great Halls 1, 3 and 4.

I have a special dietary requirement, where do I get my food?
If you submitted a dietary requirement during the registration process the venue have been notified. Please see a member of the catering staff during the break to collect the relevant meal or for further information on which food on the menu meets your dietary needs.

What is the dress code for the Conference?
Dress for all scientific sessions and the social function is smart casual.

Do I need a ticket for the ASA Awards Cocktail Evening?
There will be no separate ticket for the social function this year, instead if you purchased a ticket or indicated your intention to attend during the registration process 'Cocktail Function' will be noted on your name badge. Pelase wear your name badge to the function to gain entry.

Can I just turn up to a workshop even if I haven't pre-registered?
Yes, you may turn up to any workshop during the Conference regardless of whether you have pre-registered, however, priority will be given to delegates who are pre-registered until the session has begun. At that point, if there is space available, unregistered delegates will be allowed access.

Are there any competitions running and how do I enter them?
This year we are running both the Trade Quiz and Exhibition Passport competitions electronically. More information on how to enter these can be found here.

What CPD points are available?

Total Points = 15.5 points

Friday: 5.5 points
Saturday: 6.5 points
Sunday: 3.5 points

When will CPD points be logged?
If you are an ASA member your points will be logged onto your profile within a month of the conference, if you attended face-to-face and logged into the online portal during the conference. For any retrospective viewing of the online content, you will be required to log you own points – up to the daily or conference limits. You can not double up on points, the system will pick up on duplicate point allocation.
