Bernie Mason has had a passion for Ultrasound for many years, and came to realise that a large part of the passion came from sharing the knowledge she had acquired. Joining The Australian Sonographers Association in its early years, she became a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, now the Health and Wellbeing Committee, helping with and presenting workshops, as well as running the safety Island for many years with Val Gregory.
Bernie is also a member of The Futures Directions forum, and the Education Advisory committee.
Bernie now teaches full time and is mentor to many sonographers at different stages of their career with a primary goal of educating sonographers to prevent injury and maintain health and wellbeing to all who practise ultrasound.
Bernie is now also consultant for her company “Sono’s Safety in the Workplace.” Her aim is to go to workplaces and educate sonographers at the coal face, being able to observe them in their work environment is a very important component of offering advice for techniques on safe scanning and injury prevention and minimisation.Back to speakers
